N Stream supplies to fall to 20% from Wed, new turbine to stop
MOSCOW, Jul 25 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom will cut pumping via the Nord Stream gas pipeline to 20% of its capacity, or no more than 33 million cubic meters per day, from Wednesday as it will suspend another Siemens turbine at the Portovaya compressor station, the company said in a statement on its Telegram channel on Monday.
“Gazprom stops operation of another Siemens gas turbine engine at the Portovaya compressor station. The daily transmission capacity of the … station will be up to 33 million cubic meters per day from 07:00 a.m. Moscow time on July 27,” the company said, citing the end of the overhaul interval before the overhaul as the reason.
Nord Stream resumed operation on July 21 after 10-day scheduled maintenance. The physical flow through the facility was 30% of the capacity at the restart and later increased to 40%.
Gazprom’s pumping via the pipeline fell to 40% of the capacity even before the maintenance as the Portovaya station lacked one of the turbines, whose return from repair was delayed by Siemens because of anti-Russian sanctions.
